About the PureTech 1.0 wet timing belt
Small city cars like the 108, C1 and Aygo were built in large numbers and are often on their second or third owner. Different engines were fitted across these models over the years, and not all of them use a wet belt.
So we never guess. Send us your registration and we will confirm exactly which engine your car has, whether it has a wet belt and whether it is due, before quoting a penny.
We confirm before we quote. Engine fitment varies between versions and years, and some use a chain or a conventional dry belt. Send us your registration and we’ll check exactly what your vehicle has before recommending any work.
Common problems
- Unclear engine fitment between model years
- Belt wear on high-mileage city cars
- Oil pressure warnings
Replacement interval
The manufacturer guide for the PureTech 1.0 is every 6 years or 62,000 miles, whichever comes first. Treat it as a maximum. Short journeys, towing and long gaps between oil changes all age the belt faster.
