Wet belts are far more common than most drivers realise. Some of the best-selling cars and vans in the UK use one, including the Ford Fiesta, Focus and Transit, the Peugeot 208 and the Vauxhall Corsa. Here is the full list we work from, grouped by engine, with the replacement interval for each.
Remember that the engine matters more than the model name. The same car can be sold with a wet belt engine and a chain-driven one, so always check the exact engine and year.

My car is not on the list
If your car is not listed, it most likely uses a timing chain or a conventional dry cambelt. Engine fitments do vary by year and market, though, so if you are unsure, send us your registration and we will check it for free.
My car is on the list. What now?
Look up the interval for your engine and compare it with your car’s age and mileage, whichever comes first. If it is close, past it, or you cannot find a record of the belt being changed, it is time to book it in. A planned wet belt change costs a fraction of the engine it protects. Use our wet belt checker to see exactly where your car stands.
